For those who never updated their FAT ps3

No, CFW doesn't work yet. He is talking about the Mac address spoof method of getting on PSN I believe (or something along those lines).

No it's not custom firmware in the same way it is on PSP (and at moment it's still just proof of concept, no files have been released) it's just an edited PUP file (playstation update file) that has the menus still there. I assume, if Sony hasn't changed the format, that adding the options into 3.3 wouldn't be too difficult.

We'll see.

Regarding the DNS spoof (it's not a mac address spoof, that would do nothing) it doesn't work anymore. They've made PSN check the firmware version of the PS3 now rather than how it worked before (where the PS3 checked PSN what the latest version is). It's a two way thing now and if you don't match the latest firmware you can't get on.

Wipeout was on sale for $10, I almost bought it when it was $20. But im to mad to spend $10 on a game I used to want. Screw sony! Im not spending crap on games. (or money) Believe it or not, i just got the original xbox (panzer dragoon orta!!!) and im been playing my wii alot lately.

Old news, to maintain Linux or other OS option, don't update to latest Sony Balony firmware, but sacrifice ability to use PSN.

Jeez. Other than releasing the PS3 Slim a bit early, has there really been ANYTHING that Sony has done right this gen?

First, they force people to install many of their games to the hard drive just to play the game. Now they're forcing people to constantly update just so that they can use PSN? Unbelievable
