I apologize for the mic etiquette sevin/hobie - windows not cooperating and a cold make for an awkward use. But as promised the configuration utility that will remove ingame voice chat and the intro videos:
http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/sh ... hp?t=85874

I might be good for tomorrow as well - Ive got a meeting at 1930EST, but it should be over by 2100 when yall like to start. Again I can be either over powerful or under leveled. Either way, it was fun.

Edit:
1930 = 730pm
2100 = 9pm
I forget not everyone uses 24 hour time.

No problem, Sevin and I took several games before the mic worked every time. Odd that the last 2 nights he's had issues staying connected when porting. I don't know what it is about playing games with loot that always turns into a rush with 3 or more people though. Sevin and I had been going slower through things and picking nearly everything up. :lol:

I'd already manually edited the ini and removed the intro movies and enabled vsync I would like to try that program, but I apparently blocked something on Mediafire before, so it never pops up to let me download.

Likely line in Willowengine.ini seems to be SoundClasses=(Name=VoiceChat,Properties=(Volume=1,bNoReverb=TRUE,bIsDialog=TRUE)) though if wanted to disable game voice chat by changing the 1 to a 0.

If Sevin can't download the file either, this looks like the place to lengthen so that drops don't happen during teleports.

Mediafire is a pain. Ill see if I can host it on something else in the near future.

Sadly Borderlands is VERY level centric. Meaning if you are five levels higher than the enemies you wont have any problems. Which is why I said yall could have everything dropped. Though, yall do need to explore the city some. There are three chest in New Haven yall can get right now (four after you save the claptrap) on the rooftops. I can show you, now that my mic works. And thank you for letting me get the rider (the BB gun from Christmas Story), you have to have some quest active and not move on it, and I always forget which one. It is an elephant gun (like the one you get when you defeat skagzilla).

If I can join in tonight, I am going to try a very underleveled character (10 levels lower I think) and see if I can get her to level up some. Since we did Old Haven and the Trashcoast, I should be ok - Trash Coast is the most difficult for me to solo apart from the last run. Granted I could pull out my level 60 Moredaci...the bird simply becomes sick when you hit 50.

I already knew about several chests on the roofs in New Haven. One near Scooter, one sort of across from the arms merchant that you have to jump onto a roof with a railing, and one I think on the building between the mayor and the merchant. Does it add a chest in at some point? I did notice that garage across from the merchant that opens with a new vending machine, but then is closed again later.

I played trash coast with my hunter Wednesday night. Granted I was a few levels up so the missions there were 'trivial', but I was surprised how easily I took down the (very cool) Rakk Hive. Then to contrast, the Queen bug took a long time for me to kill, but since I was up on the ledge plinking away I was safe. It was the fight with the King bug that was a nightmare. I hadn't already cleared the normal mobs in the area, so I was running around for 15-20 minutes trying to kill them all. I ran out of pistol, smg, shotgun, rocket ammo, and grenades in that fight. I was dangerously low on assault rifle ammo too and didn't have a revolver on me.

(I know I told this story in game and I repeat stories a lot, posted here for posterity and to get others interested :) )

Retell stories away.

The fourth in New Haven is after you fix a clap trap. It is off near the little door that the generator opens. I mostly bring that up since you can get some decent loot doing that run. As for that random shop that opens - I never figured that out.

As for war stories...I played through the entire shock crystal cave with two of my buddies who were already level 9 as a level 1. The issue here is I couldnt use the equipment that were dropping.

Oh and in the area where you meet Tannis, there is a windmill up in the middle of nowhere. Well if you approach it just right, you can have six or seven sets of spiderants spawn in at the same time. Which is GREAT if you are all equipped and ready, but when it is second run through, they are lvl 45+ and you are lvl 30 with your buddies at lvl 46. I surprisingly didnt die, but we did kill ALOT of ants. I ran out of ammo on everything, half way through I picked up a repeater and shot it empty after I used up shotgun, hmg, smg, and revolver. Rockets, sadly, become fairly useless pretty quickly.

West of the Tannis area entrance there are 3 or 4 areas that spawn a ton of ants. I was driving around there with the buggy and easily got all of the "kill X mobs in Y seconds" challenges done just driving around in circles running them all over. I had the huge group of ants spawn where you're talking about the first time I went to see Tannis. Always been smaller groups for me since then.

Not much, we got Earl's dog taken care of and turned those quests in and called it a night.

I would really like to get a mic or headset. I think it would be awkward not being able to coordinate properly. Plus if I end up re-purchasing L4D through steam I can use it for that too.
