Booting LEGIT imports via FMCB

Post by emwearz »

I was wondering if there are any apps (.elf files) or disc based software (Freeloader-esc) which I can use in conjunction with FMCB to boot legit copies of imports.

Right off the bat I am going to say I know I can patch and burn and play them in ESR, thats not what I am asking, so for the love of god if this is all you have to add, please dont.

ESR supports patched imports (backups), unless I am using a really dated version.

I thought swap magic had to do a swap for the booting of imports, I tried out the .elf but had no luck, what version am I after? What process am I mean to be taking?

I just use trouble free HDAdvance/HDloader and install all the imports to convenient internal hard drive.
After install, put those valuable imports away in a safe place, play off the installed game on the hard drive.

For fuck sakes, I WANT TO BOOT THE LEGIT IMPORT! Is it really that hard to understand.

Why is whenever I post a question here, people give me alternatives, even when I say in my first thread, I am not interested in booting a backup disc, HDD, etc its not that I cant afford it, ITS THAT I WANT TO BOOT THE ORIGINAL.

Sorry to seem rude, but this happens a lot on these forums, fair enough to state some alternatives, but dont do it when the op says very clearly they are not interested in alternatives.

If you dont know the answer, or know for a fact there is no answer to be given, don't reply.

I think in this case people are giving alternatives because it's not possible to boot actual imported ps2 games with freemcboot.

ESR requires a patch at the beginning of the disc for it to boot, so no dice there. Ripping it to HDloader is an option because within the program it'll pick it up as a legit disc (therefore making it installable.) Swap magic will also work.

It sounds like to do what you're after, you're going to need a modchip.

Okay sorry, just thought the hard drive way more convenient.

For original Import to work you need either a slide tool or new top. Basically you are bypassing that eject disc detection.
