Ubisoft to switch game manuals to digital only

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I wonder if they filter their factories, which costs much, I think reduces output, and gives the business no profit other than the fact they are protecting the environment.

To be fair, this only applies to 360/ps3 games, apparently.
So feel free to support any Wii titles that might interest you (although isnt all ubi pumps out for the wii some incarnation of imagine - baby poniez? I don't know anymore)
Don't forget about PC games.

I don't think any of us should be buying Ubisoft PC games, even if they did come with manuals. They're all coming with that lovely "phone home ever 3 seconds" DRM that requires you to have an internet connection to play at all.

Just when I thought they couldn't be any cheaper or more lazy than they were with the NA version of No More Heroes' manual.

...HAH!

I thought they did away with that. I remember Prince of Persia 2008 didn't have any DRM.

Oh dear. Let's hope customer feedback keeps them from doing this for very long. Hopefully it doesn't catch on.
It will.

I think this is a matter of just being lazy.

Horrible idea. I like to read the manual before I play a game, as there's usually some kind of background that isn't in the game itself. Plus, it lets me skip those damn tutorials. I don't have a problem with the concept of in-game tutorials, but so many of them treat us like we've never played a video game before.

I support this. If I want extra manual back story it will be in game and more accessible. I only buy complete and hate walking into a game store a finding a game I want that doesn't have it's manual. If it didn't have one in the first place, I wouldn't have to worry. Buying disc only and just printing a cover sounds good to me. I understand people who like holding the physical manual, but to me it's really about as significant as the Nintendo Power subscription ads.

I would care if manuals were more than 2 or 3 pages these days.

Seriously manuals are practically extinct as it is now.
