With Metal Slug 7 coming to the DS, I remembered that I had been thinking that they should make something on the Wii with a control scheme similar to Abuse (a PC game).
In Abuse you move with the keys (in a side-scroll, platform style environment) and you aim with the mouse. Now, one thing that is sometimes annoying with metal slug games is that you can't really fire in the diagonal. With the Wii remote, you could aim in many directions, so a run n gun platformer with these controls could be really nice (think Gunstar Heroes or Metal Slug with this control scheme).
Comments anyone?

me three.
I was about to recommend "Godfather" on the Wii because you can abuse a lot of thugs with the controllers as though you were really doing it (ie shaking somebody, punching, etc, very realistic and it is THE best version of the Godfather game that has come out, really did the movie justice).
I don't know how to reply now because I already had that reply pre-planned out (yes, I was ready to spam for the Godfather game because it is just that bad ass)

Old side-scroller.
That would be freaking awesome on the wii - move with the Nunchuck, aim with the wiimote.

You guys are terrible :P
I guess I should have put quotes on "Abuse"
Anyway, extrarice clearly has it right - a game with this control scheme has the potential to rock.
I haven't played Metroid Prime 3, but basically it would work sort of similar but in a 2d run n gun )rather than in a 3D sort of FPS).

That's amusing. Being a long-time user of linux and BSD, I instantly recognized the game. Still, a good game involving some lit cigarettes and the flesh of babes, seems like a winner to me. I'd love to hear the sizzling sound come out of the Wiimote.
At any rate, there is a game that, more-or-less, uses that control scheme. You use the nunchuck to move you character around, and the wii-mote to aim the weapons. Unfortunately, the game is horrible: Alien Syndrome. Really quite unfortunate, as a remake could have been great.
