That's not quite ever been done before (except for things that would transmit your handheld's image to a TV screen).
That would be pretty awesome.

Question, though: Couldn't you start a game on a console and continue it on a portable with the Turbo Express? I've never actually seen a TG-16 or a Turbo Express in real life. Were games saved directly on the Hu-Card, or was there some sort of separate memory card or internal memory for saving games? I don't actually know if this was possible, that's why I'm asking.

Turbochips had no save functionality. The Turbo CD attachment and the attachment that gave you composite output (can't remember the name) both had internal memory for saving.

To be fair, Genesis carts aren't fantastically portable in large numbers.

but it would satisfy the start-the-game-at-home-and-finish-it-on-the-road definition. No?

So did all Turbochip games rely on passwords for saving? I know there were at least a few non-CD games that were long enough to require some sort of save capability.

Oh yeah, I wasn't thinking of that one. You're right.

I know Neutopia allows for saving using either the Turbo CD or that video expansion, and I believe it also lets you use a password. A lot of the Turbo stuff was more arcady, though, so saving wasn't as important.

Yeah, the Turbo Booster was just to give you composite, but the Turbo Booster Plus had save memory that Neutopia could use instead of being stuck with a password. Duo machines also have built in memory as well.
