Wow! Really appreciate the response guys (big ups to Pulsar_t). A lot of these games I thought were console exclusive; particularly Onimusha 3. Go figure.

They still work though. Semantics...emwearz wrote:They dont run on Scumm though....Only Lucasarts (LucasFilm Games) used SCUMM, not Sierra.Niode wrote:Well, technically he's right, since SCUMM stands for Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion. So he's right in saying that they run on SCUMM. SCUMMVM is simply a Virtual Machine for the SCUMM.

Grim Fandango and Little Big Adventure 2 are both must-plays in my eyes.

Thanks, if you ever revisit this topic don't hesitate to tell us what you thought of the games.martin31406 wrote:Wow! Really appreciate the response guys (big ups to Pulsar_t). A lot of these games I thought were console exclusive; particularly Onimusha 3. Go figure.
Both already mentioned, but I agree both are fine classics. Even though the now-defunct Adeline made LBA1+2 I didn't really get into Time Commando. It felt clunky.wakeup wrote:Grim Fandango and Little Big Adventure 2 are both must-plays in my eyes.

I know Adeline is dead, but there *might* be something in the works;Pulsar_t wrote:Thanks, if you ever revisit this topic don't hesitate to tell us what you thought of the games.martin31406 wrote:Wow! (sorry for OT)
LBA 1+2 is IMO the most genius Action/Adventure games ever conceived on a PC; with an absolutely brilliant back-story, beautiful graphics, smooth gameplay and a living/breathing world, inhabited by very interesting *individuals* they *well* worth the time it takes to play them through)
:edit
and if you ask me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Ecstatica 1, either
and add further to the list;
Flashback/Another World
Resident Evil installments
Fable (Adventure as in if 3D-Zelda can be classified an Adventure)
the Oddworld games
C-64 will never die
- only the players
- only the players

Flashback and its ilk are cinematic platformers, they're essentially platform games with trial and error puzzles thrown in to accentuate the challenge. Fable is more of WRPG but I guess it's applicable.Lord_Santa wrote:and add further to the list;

Foolishly I thought that Little Big Planet was a sequel to Little Big Adventure. I got really excited and couldn't wait to play as Twinsen again. Then I saw the game and was like WTF! THIS IS NOT A LB GAME!!

For sure. I've already played Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Loved it. Wish there were more Deus Ex type games like this one. I'm playing Silent Hill 3 at the moment. It does its job, which is to scare the heck out of you. But overall, it's just okay.Pulsar_t wrote:Thanks, if you ever revisit this topic don't hesitate to tell us what you thought of the games.martin31406 wrote:Wow!
