What does racketboy do for a job?
Wow -- I'm impressed at the enthusiasm here
If only the site made enough for me to quit my day job, I would totally be on top of this...
But I'll take the idea more seriously now and let the idea swim around in my brain for a while.
But for now, I have a ton of content I want to put on the site and maybe once I start slowing things down here, I'll focus on organizing stuff for a book.
By then, however, I'll probably have a kid, so who knows how things will go then

One of my friends was writing a book with one of his friends who moved to South Korea and basically what they did was write a part and then send it to the other to add to. The whole idea was that they were living very diferent lives and having diferent experiences and that influenced the writing that they each brought to the table.
What I propose is that maybe you set-up a section of your site dedicated to the book. Members can ,as they please write something that they feel could add some kind of value to the project. You could then edit ,delete or in any way modify the finished product in whatever way you see fit .
What I'm saying is that I like this site and value the opinions of the members and think that if a bunch of people add something ( wether it be something of a histroy lesson on gaming or a story about thier own experiences or just a view for the future) it can be a sounding board so to take alot of the pressure off of the writing and maybe turn it into more of a group effort. We all bring our own views ,experiences and thoughts it could be something great or it could be an absolute mess, but I think it could be fun.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I guess this is pretty much what I wrote in my last post. Maybe I should read all of the other posts properly before calling stuff my idea. I feel like a foolracketboy wrote:Actually, I am considering eventually turning a lot of the blog content (expanded on, of course) into a book. But that will probably be a while down the line as I'm too busy pumping stuff out for the site.Yackom wrote:You should pick up from freelance work for some gaming magazines, or write a book on game history ect. I've actually never had any formal writing education above English 101 and 102 and, I guess, English and American Literature in college.
I'm actually a System Administrator for a local utility.

Nah -- don't worry about it.
