Cooling Fan in an N64? (How To?)
while i realize it might be a bit superfluous, out of interest in making more of a project of my n64, i want to put a cooling fan in it so that it runs extra cool (i would like to get as much life out of it as possible). the only thing i really need help with is where to solder it so it powers on and off with the system. i'll figure out the mounting and whatever on my own. if anyone has an answer for me, please post it. thanks.

You just posted a heat sink question, why make a new post since all this is related?

Really don't think its needed, plus you will be pushing dust in there.
But if you are adamant, bacteria posted a schematic here.

thanks, sorry for the clutter... i just thought (afterwords ) it was somewhat of a tech question that might get answered more specifically here. the first answer i got led me to bacteria64's project that specifically said "with no fan". thanks again

Right, but his schematic shows where the 3.3 and 12 volts are available on the board for fan use.optmusprimenumber wrote:thanks, sorry for the clutter... i just thought (afterwords ) it was somewhat of a tech question that might get answered more specifically here. the first answer i got led me to bacteria64's project that specifically said "with no fan". thanks again
