I agree that typing on a desktop keyboard is faster (due to being able to use all 8 fingers (plus a thumb)) on it. However, those keyboards that are on phones I disagree, I can write text much much faster on my iphone than I can on a keypad/keyboard. It is possible to write just as fast on an iphone, just because the buttons are physical doesn't instantly make it a better keyboard. You're still limited to using your thumbs on either type due to the size of the device. I am much slower at typing on the 360 chatpad than I am at typing on my iphone simply because my thumbs have less distance to travel. Plus the automatic word correction on the iphone is pretty good once it adapts to your writing style (it stops pestering you for unknown words/abbreviations when you dismiss the correction a few times) and little shortcuts like double space for 'period space' at end of sentences or pressing z to dismiss corrections, making text input even faster.crux wrote: And though this isn't a topic about phones, this also extends itself to keyboards. Typing on a physical keyboard is faster and anyone that says anything to the contrary is compensating for something.
Hell, if I knew morsecode I'd just use iditdah and tap my text in, that's even faster than a real keyboard when you get skill at it.
