Finally finished RE5

Post by fuctfuct »

On normal.

Man.. That game was so stressful for me. I had to take breaks of about 3-4 days in between plays. Now that i have unlocked a few weapons with unlimited ammo and set it on easy its actually kinda fun

Still need to go back to RE4. I quit pretty far into it.

Why was it stressful?

Also once you have finished the game once (On normal, easy is not much of a challenge) the game is very easy to finish on hard as you have your weapons close to fully upgraded.

The game was awesome, but doesnt hold a candle to RE4 (Wii version is the best).

It's kinda hard to explain. I always let out a huge sigh at the end of a chapter and realize how tense my whole body was. RE4 and 5 are the only games that can make me feel that way.

-I take it far to seriously lol
-I'm not saying i suck but i'm not great at it (The breaks didn't help)
-I hate dying so i guess that adds a lot of stress
-Lack of ammo
-Controls, not horrible but "stiffer" that most 3rd person games.
-Great atmosphere? Could you imagine doing anything close to that in real life?!? lol
-Getting startled a couple times

.. iduno

It was a great game though and i loved it.

I liked RE5. It wasn't as great as RE4. It felt very watered down and streamlined in order to accomodate co op. Co op with another person is a lot of fun though. I just wish it didn't feel so obvious that they stripped everything away to make it work.

When the tactical nuke hit the old city after RE3, so did my love for anything RE afterwards.

RE4 was really fun, but it just wasnt the same anymore. Seeing it in another perspective helped a little. Good enough to make me complete it 4 times, with the later runs being speed runs. Plus speed-running the bonus stuff. (Played the PS2 version.)

But RE5 was just a huge let down in every way possible. Even less RE and pretending its something else dosnt help anymore either. It was also a stupid idea to not advance the control scheme. It's just backwards and not fluid enough, not saying RE5 should control like Lost Planet, but a mix between the two would help. After all, in cut scenes the "new" RE characters like to do fancy stuff anyway, right?

Regarding the controls being backwards and me loving RE 1-3 - It actually fits to the first 3. They are just normal people without being able to kick out the guts of a zombie with ease. Just like Silent Hill it gave the game a fitting feel of being weak and outnumbered.

In RE4 I blasted the crap out of so many waves of weird beings without even the slightest problems regarding "my life" in the game, that there is nothing left of the once so fun "survival horror" genre. It's action. Thats what it is. Your biggest enemy is not being able to strafe, lol.

I felt that way too. My friend and I had bought it, hoping the co-op would be fun, but halfway through we just got bored and stopped playing.

I did not like re5. It reminded me of re: outbreak and i didnt really like re: outbreak 1&2.
Actually I did not like re4. They lost sight of the resident evil series. It is turning into resident evil zombie revenge. I still think code veronica is the best.

I really had no interest in this game or series anymore after playing 4 but Target had it on sale for $10 so I picked it up.
