Worst video games you have ever played

Modern Warfare 2. I'm deadly serious.

I'm proud to say I haven't played it. I use to be into FPS games, but they're getting kinda old and repetitive to me these days. That and I don't wanna associate myself with this new wave of Xbox 360 owners that can't stop talking about "COD 5" (and actually saying the word cod, as in codfish, instead of C-O-D). I've been playing FPS since Doom 95, and got real into them when Goldeneye came out. Now it's just the same old shit. People tell me, "Man, did you play COD4 yet? It's INSANE! There's all these cool new things and you can kill people and I'm really awesome at the game and I stayed up til 5am playing online and getting headshots." Then I try it out and I couldn't suffer through another level. The genre is just getting boring to me, same old shit left and right. I actually liked MOH Airborne better than COD4 because at least it had a kinda new innovation to it (you parachute into each level and can play tasks in any order you choose). I think that's why I liked Bioshock so much, it added a LOT to a same-old FPS game. And I straight up refuse to play online these days, but that might have a little to do with me hating people. Sorry for the rant lol.

FFVII's solid, but the fanbase is pretty damn unbearable at times.

I thoroughly enjoyed FF7, but I guess I'd have to admit that the fanbase is extremely annoying. But I guess that goes for any game (or any thing). You hear enough people talking about how great it is then all of a sudden you can't stand it! That's partially why I'm so sick of COD.

MW2 is just dire. Played it on PC, i've played betas that were more finished than this glitch fest. The mouse aiming just feels wrong. It's hard to explain, it feels sluggish, and you can't even bump the accuracy up, you increase the sensitivity and it's faster, yeah, but the slightest movement jumps 4-5pixels. Making aiming/sniping absolutely impossible.

You can't set any graphics settings until after the first mission. WTF is that about?! I was forced to play the entire first mission in 1024x768 on minimum settings purely because the game couldn't detect my HD4870 (which incidentally plays the game at 16:9 1152p on full settings). I forced my self to complete the game. It took me 5 hours... £39.99 for a 5 hour game? Are you fucking kidding me? Don't even get me started on the damn multiplayer lag fest...

FF7 isn't a bad game, I was enthralled in that game when it first came out on PS1. It was my first proper Final Fantasy game though, I played Mystic Quest but didn't really like it, we never got domestic releases of the main series in Europe. AFAIK FF7 was the first one we ever got. We got the earlier installments in the chronicle/anthology compilations on Playstation a couple of years after FF7 came out. I agree that it's vastly over-rated but it's not a bad game (it's not even a mediocre game) by any stretch of the imagination.

Castle of Dragon on the NES. I saved and saved when I was a teen and bought that pile of shit. $50 wasted...I bought an unused copy of it at PlaynTrade a month ago for a buck and remembered how awful it was when I was 14...

Yes and that lag makes the game last longer, making the experience even worse.

With all the talk about Superman 64, I could also mention Superman on the Atari 2600. What gives with the flying sound on EVERY SINGLE SCREEN IN THE F'ING GAME?

Army Men: Green Rogue, for PS2 (it's actually not so awful on PS1, but this version is one of the top ten worst games of all time according to gamerankings.com). It's a 3rd person shooter, and you are always moving forward, unable to stop. Aiming is very difficult, as it is done with the R and L buttons. The story and voice acting are also awful, and the graphics literally look like N64 graphics. Definately the worst game I ever played, distantly followed by either Ford Racing 3 or Motocross Mania 3.

Well, the game I hated the most as a (little) kid would have to be glover for the N64.
The levels just made me confused, I could never master the controls, and the damn music has tormented me ever since. *shudder*

This isn't the worst game I've ever played, but the one that pissed me off the most would have to be Sonic 2 for the game gear. I just couldn't get past the damn 1st boss until about 7 years after I got the damn thing. Argh.
I can't really hate on the atari games I've played, I'll give them a break since they are so primitive.

Oh, Rayman for Playstation, same reason as sonic, I just didn't get it as a kid, not because It was necessitation a bad game.

Ford racing 3 and Crash Boom Bang for DS both suck too.
Crash boom bang is a terrible rip-off of Mario party, the graphics looked like shit, the mini-games were all basically the same thing, and it took me 5 hours to beat %100 the first time, and 3 hours the second time.
Ford racing 3 had the most awkward drift mechanics I've ever dealt with. And it just felt slow, like sonic labyrinth slow.
