PAL/euro NES players - need help with a quick question
Likely a dumb question, but I came across this Euro version SMB. It looks like the Asian version carts sold briefly in China and some other territories. Is this what the PAL carts all looked like? I always thought Europe got the same pixelated artwork on early NES games that we got here in the U.S. Sorry for such a dumb question - Google failed me and I am impatient.

Yeah, that's definitely not the standard euro release? How many screws does it have on the back? 3 or 5?
We got the same pixelated fire mario artwork that US got.

The artwork on that cart is for Super Mario Land, must be a bootleg.

actually I've got 2 copies of SmB and that's exactly what it looks like
never seen a US copy, but that's likely European (yes, I'm from Europe)
:edit
if you look close enough it says "European Version" =)
:edit 2
Niode:
I can't imagine the Scandinavian version looking any different than that of the UK(?)
but I've never seen pixelated art-work on any NES game in Sweden, nor Denmark
:edit 3
if in doubt:

Looks like it
Pity I only have the card left... my brother has the european SMB2 and SMB3 boxed, with manuals. Pretty cool artwork.

I don't know the number of screws. This is a screen grab. To be clear, I don't believe it is the artwork from Mario Land -- it's the Famicom cart artwork. This cart is exactly like Asian Version carts (not the same as the JP release) and yes it does say European Version. But I just wasn't sure how much variation between territories the physical releases had in Europe.
Re: PAL/euro NES players - need help with a quick question
Interesting, there's not usually much difference between the UK copies and the rest of europe.
