Quick PSP Question
I am now a proud owner of a Sony PSP 1000. But I'm wondering if all the PSP models utilize the same USB cable or if I need to look for a certain one for the older PSP series?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Quick PSP Question
Nope, no special cable. All PSPs use a standard USB to mini-USB cable. Congrats on the new system! Be sure to check out Field Commnder if you're into turn based strategy games, it's an awesome game.

Re: Quick PSP Question
Thanks. I actually bought a PSP running 5.00 m33-6. So I'm really excited about the emulation side of it.
I just need the USB cable to hook it up to my Mac. Then you guys probably won't hear from me for awhile
*Side note* It sucks that I probably won't be able to play a lot of the newer games with the older firmware. But I do still plan on buying a newer Slim model in the future. Not just so I can play the newer games, and shop on the PSN store. But also so I can output the PSP video to my tv screen.

I think you can just upgrade your firmware, regardless of having a fat instead of a slim.Weekend_Warrior wrote: *Side note* It sucks that I probably won't be able to play a lot of the newer games with the older firmware. Although my personal (ethical, not legal) stance is, if you are going to pirate it is not as bad if you pirate older games rather than the newer games. The PSP is great for emulation, or so I hear
Ivo.

Re: Quick PSP Question
Yeah, I was on the fence about buying one of those NES (FCMobileII), SNES (FC16Go), or Genesis (Retrogen) portable systems. But then I realized.. why not just get a modded PSP and then I can play them all on one system with superior sound emulation and a really nice screen?!Ivo wrote:The PSP is great for emulation, or so I hear

I myself have a PSP but I'm going for a Dingoo for emulators.Weekend_Warrior wrote:Yeah, I was on the fence about buying one of those NES (FCMobileII), SNES (FC16Go), or Genesis (Retrogen) portable systems. Older. Not wiser.
Re: Quick PSP Question
I use a PSP 1000 for emulation. NES, Genesis, and original Playstation work great. SNES has given me occasional framerate and freezing issues. Strangely real PSP games haven't given me any trouble at all, but that might be since all the games I'm playing are three or more years old.

Re: Quick PSP Question
I wouldn't expect any real PSP games to give any trouble on any of the model versions including 1000. Sony's devkit makes no distinction between any of the versions.Anayo wrote:Strangely real PSP games haven't given me any trouble at all, but that might be since all the games I'm playing are three or more years old.

Re: Quick PSP Question
the PSP emulators are pretty great. But in the long run I found that I hated the feel of the buttons on the damn thing.
