I've got a preliminary list, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something....
What are the most in-demand imports?
limited editions?
Just plain expensive regular releases?
Most Valuable PS2 Games?

Re: Most Valuable PS2 Games?
As far as domestic releases go,
Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence - Limited Edition has been super expensive (like $100+) ever since it's incredibly limited release.
I know a lot of the Shim megami Tensei games (nocturne, digital devil sagas) have come down quite a bit since their numerous re-releases, but the Digital Devil Saga collector's box is still pretty sought after (Not sure what it was called, but it held both of the digital devil saga games)
Marvel vs Capcom of course, although less so since the psn/xbla release
And Growlanser Generations, the only working designs release of note on the ps2, the limited edition of that is quite a bit, although the regular edition is pretty cheap
and of course for imports, every single god damn jpn released shmup commands ungodly prices (dodonpachi dai ou jou, mushihime sama, ibara, etc)

Re: Most Valuable PS2 Games?
I think all of the domestic shmups can be found for around $20 or much less.
Re: Most Valuable PS2 Games?
Hmm.
MGS:Substance and Subsistance are considerably more valuable than other PS2 games. Yakuza 2 seems to yo-yo in price. I've sold copies for as high as £30-35 in the past but bought them in the wild for less than £10... Zone of The Enders 2nd Runner received a re-print but it's starting to go back up in price.
One game that I know for a fact that is rare is the PAL version of Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. The last copy that was on ebay I got outbid on. It went for £31. It's rare because it received very limited release in Italy and that was it. It's now out of print. That game is a 'one to watch' for sure. It's bound to go up in price in future. I'm desperately trying to secure a copy. Consider the NTSC version goes often for around £10 and is a budget title in the states.

I second REZ along with TRANCE import vibrator. Though price on U.S. REZ has come down.
Wide price range on this one, Making of and some VR missions.
Document of Metal Gear Solid 2

For Imports.
Maybe touch on the Sega Ages series?

The follow up to Vib Ribbon, Vib Ripple
I have PS1 Ribbon a very strange game, love to get PS2 Vib Ripple.

How can I have forgotten this one, wrote a review a while back!
PAL ICO with extras over U.S. release.
Prices have gone up because of the Last Guardian hype.

Re: Most Valuable PS2 Games?
MGS 2: Substance is not rare. It has been released twice, once by itself, the other time in the MGS collection that had the first three games in it. So it's pretty common now, I see it all the time. Subsistence is still somewhat valuable, however. It didn't sell as much on its first release, and the re-release doesn't count, because it's missing the great disc 2. So technically, Subsistence isn't rare, but everyone wants the first version, which isn't so common.Niode wrote:Hmm.
