Turbo Duo games to be released on Virtual Console

Post by Daigr »

Well the Virtual console is going to be even greater it seems. Hudson plans on releasing Turbo Duo games this year. Hudson has plans to release ten games by the end of 2007 and bring five more out in 2008. Ys Books I & II and Cho Aniki have been confirmed and will be sold for 800 Wii Points ($8) each.

Great news. Are we going to see a Wii hard drive soon then? What about Sega CD games, 3D0 games?

I sure hope Nintendo has an hdd in the works. CD-based games + NeoGeo ROMs > 512MB O_O
I don't like the idea of bouncing VC purchases between SD cards, since Nintendo still doesn't allow you to run software from the SD card.

Man, what's next...Sega CD/32x games available for download? This is great news, and hopefully a hint to Nintendo that we Wii (hehe) owners need a Harddrive like Extrarice mentioned.

I'll admit that lack of HDD support or playback from SD media has been a major beef of mine. But you know what would be cooler - playback of native media! Just pop your Sega-CD or TG-16 CD game into the Wii and off you go!

Too bad it doesn't allow you to play the originals via the optical drive....

They could use specially named .mp3 or other compressed audio files and map the emulated CD audio track play commands to compressed audio files. That would cut down the size quite a bit.

Has the VC already helped with TG16 game prices?

Dont know about the games but the console itself drop a lot in price. I check ebay often for a turbo duo (I own a jap version but I really want an american version) and the price of a regular turbo grafx goes for about 60 shiped last week a turbo grafx with cd atachment went for 80 shiped!!!!!! I missed it because the internet went down in my house :( Now turbo grafx goes 40 some with two games Ive seen them going for 30.
