Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream ~ It's out.

Post by Mozgus »

Finally.

http://ff7.ocremix.org/

Downloading now. That was such a long, long wait.

I'm not going to even try hyping this up for you guys since the last few OCR albums I spoke of on here pretty much got ignored. :?

I just realized that these songs could be inserted into FF7 on PC using a little tool a lot of people know about. I'll bet someone is already building the profile to use with this album. That might make FF7 worth playing through again.

Thanks Mozguz!! I didn't knew this even existed. I'm always up for Nobuo Uematsu music especially FFVII.

So far I'm not blown away like I was with most of the OCR albums. I have a feeling this will be more like their Chrono Trigger album, in that it takes some time to grow on you, and then you cant let go of it.

I'm relatively rookie in OCR and so on, but are these albums free? Are they remixes (as the name implies), recreating the 16 bit music with "regular" instruments (or modern synths that are closer to "normal" music, in that sense)? I have listened to Chrono Trigger original soundtrack, how does the OCR album compare?

I guess I'll go have a look myself.
Thanks for bringing this up.

They just arrange the songs in any style they want, most of the time. Some albums, like the very first (Super Metroid) stayed more true to the game's tone, however.
