Recommended accessories for PSP (Slim)?

I think the best accessory for any PSP is the extended life battery kit. From amazon.com, it's $39 but you double the runtime of your battery from 5-6 hours to 10-12 hours. For a slim, yes, it's not as slim as before but it really doesn't bother me. I don't carry the PSP around in my pocket.

Remember all the cool atachments for the Gameboy? Magnifier Screen, a light, comfort grips, speakers,headphones, car adaptors, etc. Cool gadgets to make your portable gaming not so portable. Gets to the point where you end up just keeping PSP in front pocket and the rest of those accessories in a bag back home.

Yes, I certainly agree with what you are saying, which is why I doubt I will buy the grip thingy. I guess in the end I'll just buy some screen protectors to replace the crappy factory one and perhaps I get a soft pouch - but as I already have a rather small carry case probably I'll just get the protectors.

Definitely get a screen protector sheet, believe me, you want to protect the screen!

As for accessories, I have plenty of them, include the Extended life battery.

I'd suggest getting a hard, play-through case (so your psp is always protected).
Also, I think it is a good idea to buy an external battery.

you all do realize a "screen protector" AKA "total nonsense" will not protect the actual screen from getting cracked and will no doubt get dingy and foggy with time, right? Even significant scratches are not noticeable during gameplay, and if it gets REALLY bad, you can buy another case front for like $5, which is probably less than a pack of "screen protectors." The most important thing is that you never let anything put pressure on the center of the screen because the front of the case is flexible enough to let it crack the LCD underneath. I don't know how companies have conned people into thinking "screen protectors" are a good idea.

As for everything else:

hard plastic cases (that you leave on) are a bad idea because they can definitely scratch the system, not to mention all look retarded and most will make pushing buttons difficult.

Don't buy the official extended battery, $40 for that shit is highway robbery. I paid $10 for a used one, but if I didn't get that, 3rd party is the way to go. Lithium Ion batteries are dirt cheap, don't just put $30 in Sony's pocket (or rather the store selling it). You'll have to search around and read reviews to verify if the posted power rated is genuine, but you should be able to find one eventually. I wouldn't pay too much mind to people that claim it shuts off suddenly etc. as that's more likely a connection problem with their PSP because they don't know how to take care of stuff.
