Does the 32x do damage to original Genesis games?

no the worst thing that can happen is putting it on the 32x on the gensis 2 without the spacer and consantly wiggling

or stacking too many things

Yeah, that's the power base convertor version 2. Think it may be Europe/Brazil only.

the short answer: no.

I have, however, noticed that some Genesis-eses like to be prima donnas and not work properly with Knuckles Chaotix. I tried 2 different 32Xs on my model 2 Genesis and neither one would work, yet it worked fine on a friend's model 2. I later got a Model 1 and the appropriate adapter cable and it worked perfectly.
