Buying games based on the composer/ sound director

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Platformers with a quirky sense of humour, and that's about where the comparison ends.

Not that the PS1 Crash games weren't incredible in their own right! Mark Mothersbaugh (sp? From Devo) did the first one's music and it was very memorable - especially the jungle stuff.

Banjo-Kazooie had more in common with Super Mario 64 with item collection, more dialogue etc...

I kind of feel bad I know how to correctly say those string of nas (?). Correctly placed commas as well. Thank you.

I just laughed out loud - not in the fake internet way, but an actual laugh.

Absolutely it does!! haha.
My friend does something similar and turns the game music all the way off, then pops open his itunes and listens to his own music. I always tell him he's a baffoon! You don't get to experience the game fully the way it was intended! I work in sound design, so I may be a little bit biased, but truthfully sound counts for 50% of the mood and whatever the media may be, whether its a game, movie, or anything like that. Especially with newer games.

Yeah, I understand exactly what you mean and agree with you. But sometimes I'd just rather listen to the Silver Jews or whatever instead of the game score.

Thanks, I think. J T did that same thing to me a couple of weeks ago. I just recently got it out of my head, and now you put it back in. BLAST!!

I forgot to mention Rez. It's one of those musical shmups (for lack of a better term?) where you get immersed in the music. I admit the standalone score isn't the greatest, but in-game everything jells together nicely. I have no idea who did the music though! Shame on moi.

I recommend getting the XBLA HD port (or the compilation disc Qube), if you have a 360 at hand.

No, I've never really factored the composer/sound director as one of the main reasons for purchasing or playing a video game. It's not really something I take into serious consideration when choosing a game.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Looks like it was a compilation. (Gotta love Wikipedia  )

1. Keiichi Sugiyama - Buggie Running Beeps 01 (5:20)
2. Mist - Protocol Rain (7:08)
3. Ken Ishii - Creation the State of Art (Full Option) (6:33)
4. Joujouka - Rock Is Sponge (7:31)
5. Adam Freeland - Fear* (Rez Edit) (5:06)
6. Coldcut & Tim Bran - Boss Attacks (Remix) (7:15)
7. EBZ - F6 G5 (7:48)
8. Oval - Octaeder 0.1. (3:22)
9. Ken Ishii - Creative State (6:20)
10. Oval - P-Project (5:38)

* There are two versions of Fear, "Fear", and Mind Killer. "Mind Killer" was a more up beat version of "Fear".

The graphics look splendid as well, I'll have to download this one. Looks like an interesting shump.
