If any of them couldn't read discs, PLEASE tell me how he was able to fix them. Otherwise, nice pickup.

He fixed them all by replacing a resistor on the controller port board. Apparently it's pretty common for aftermarket controllers to blow a resistor on this board. At this point he is 12 saves out of 13 busted units (he bought even more recently).

Oh, I've been using the standard first party controllers on mine. A friend of mine said something about calibrating the disc drive or something? Yeah I really don't know. Thanks for sharing though.

If I remember right the DC will load a game even with that fuse-able resistor blown. That fix will only take care of non working controller ports.

Josh, Try other games first. If no games work you might have to clean and/or tweak your laser.

I got it from a used game store in a city that I work in from time to time. It was one of the few interesting things in the store, and also one of the only clean items. I talked the owner down from $54.99 to $40. It actually still has the plastic film over the screen, and although I didn't buy the few games that were at the store, I did test it out there and the thing works beautifully.
