Extra consoles

Is there any real purpose to keeping a bunch extra copies of a console or should I sell off or give away my extra Nes, genesis, and two extra ps1's.

Never hurts to have an extra if one breaks down in my opinion, this ESPECIALLY applies to PS 1s.

I agree, I've had several consoles crap out on me (recently BOTH my genny's crapped out... the damn expansion port won't recognize my SegaCD).

PS1's die constantly as well... I couldn't tell you how many I've had to repair over the last decade.

you could always try taking them apart to see how they work... maybe do a chip install or overclock it.

keepin them for parts is the way to go. Either that or using them in art projects or the likes.

Please for the love of god don't pull them apart if they work!

If they don't work then fine go ahead pull em apart, but please we need to preserve these dead consoles for as long as possible.

If I give away a console it will be to a family member. I bought the 3 consoles mentioned at the beginning of this thread at yard sales on Saturday and have not yet had the time to dig up my hook ups to test them. If the Ps1's work I would be willing to sell one of them off for 20 shipped, Maybe lower than that, I am at work right now so I am not able to weigh it.
