Yes. If you're into it for the sake of playing games rather than collecting, a modded PSP is the way to go. An unlocked PSP will give you access to entire libraries of other handhelds, via emulation.dsheinem wrote:On the PSP, the best portable games are now playable on a system that does them justice. Oh, and there's also a nice library of PSP originals to peruse, IMO.
Handhelds, are they fun or just paperweights now?

I agree that the PSP screen is amazing. And when I had it I used emulators way more than original PSP games. But ultimately I found that I used the damn thing as a mp3 player, movie player and internet browser far more than a game station, as I love collecting physical games as opposed to ROMs.
Also, the original Zelda would always freeze up the PSP NES emu.

This is how I am...oh well maybe I will just buy random games that I dont have the consoles for just to have them to give myself a fix

It depends what you're looking for. At the moment I am playing tons of GBA and DS games. I only have the phat DS at the moment but will upgrade in the future. I think that the DS is a great system especially since many of the great games it has can be bought for less than $20 if you like collecting. If not you can just buy a flash card. The PSP I would say is amazing for its homebrew capabilities but lacks in it's game library. I would say that the Nintendo DS/GBA would rival home consoles in enjoyment.lost_within wrote:noiseredux wrote:I agree that the PSP screen is amazing. huh?!?! NEVER!
Honestly you could be right. It sucks not having room for the stuff you enjoy. Maybe I should try to move stuff around and see how much room I can pull out my ass. Then again...I did see some really awesome game gear bundles on ebay tonight. *sigh* who knows...who knows...
Its funny though, cause there are also alot of really good looking rpg's coming out on the ps3 in the next month or 2

The PSP is awesome. I love mine to death, but I keep my GBA around since I loved Nintendo first. If you do get a GBA, get a micro. It has a nice backlit screen.
