Yeah it could be worse, you could live in PAL territories.pepharytheworm wrote:I am just glad that we at least got most of the main Tales of series. Missing two PS2 titles and 2 DS titles, and hopefully we are still getting tales of graces.

Re: Namco Screws Us Again
Only 5 Tales games were released in Europe, to my knowledge. That REALLY sucks. But, hey, at least you can import the games in your language. That should soften the blow.Niode wrote:Yeah it could be worse, you could live in PAL territories.pepharytheworm wrote:I am just glad that we at least got most of the main Tales of series. Compared to the literally hundreds of titles that never got released here? I say you lot got it easy.

And you can import all three without a problem, thanks to the region free-ness of the portables.pepharytheworm wrote:You guys have several rpg's I want in pal territories. If that rumor turns out to be true, I won't hesitate to import it. That being said, I've calmed down a bit about this whole thing, and while I'm still angry at Namco for not releasing ToV PS3 here, I realize that the only way to show them that there's money to be made overseas is by sales numbers, not words.dlmvii wrote:At least europe is getting Tales of Graces, which we are (probably) not
Also, I still have faith they will release it, and I have a very good reason behind this logic. That reason is Final Fantasy XIII. It could be possible that they are holding off this news until Square Enix's North American release of FFXIII, so they can ride the wave of JRPG hype. When you look back through all the majorly-marketed Final Fantasy games, many other JRPGs soon follow while the demand is high. It was perhaps most notable on the PS1 after the release of VII; many new fans of the genre emerged, and were hungry for any game they could get their hands on afterwards. The original Grandia was released on the PS1 in North America, and right after FFVIII's NA release. Why not release it before then, and leave is as a Saturn exclusive? Because they knew that FFVIII was big enough of a game that the hype would be worth it. And you know what? I bet there was a noticeable sales boost compared to what would have been an otherwise quiet release. At that time, it was the cheapest and easiest marketing in the world; all they had to do was designate the game as a JRPG, and more people would buy it.
So, I think that Namco DOES plan to release ToV PS3 overseas, but they are waiting until FF's release, when the timing and market will be just right, and they will maybe even be able to extend the hype wave for a bit longer.

I kinda doubt anybody'll be seeing Tales of Graces anytime soon...
