man- we are both posting at the same time. Over and over.

Which is also pretty well done because it's smooth and fun to pull off. And there is no severe punishment to failing like in a lot of other games. It makes things a little tougher, and turns fights into more of the hiding behind walls, but that's what made the stealth aspect more fun to pull off.
nope- you can punch out a guy from behind without him knowing and take him down, but as soon as you do everyone on the board knows where you are and starts shooting. It almost makes it not even worth it because you need to find cover quickly after the first punch. A stealth aspect would MUCH improve this game.

The only times I died in Tomb Raider was from failing to grab a ledge due to shitty jumping, and trying to "explore" by leaping to what I thought were alternate paths. Everything ultimately goes along the same straight line though.
Ah- that is where we will agree to disagree i guess. I found not knowing your way in tomb raider to be the best part of it. To look at a room and plan out where i want to be and figure out exactly how to get through was what the game hinged on. True- it is linear, but it pulls off this weird problem solving thing where you have to try to find the linear route. You need to think 5 or 7 jumps ahead. Uncharted kind of suffers in a weird way of being uber planned. Because everything in the game is so playtested and well designed, i never have to think about the second jump, i just jump. And like i was saying in my original post- this doesn't make for a good puzzle, which means that the game has to make up for it with having the other half of the equation- good combat. It performs the same in the combat. Not bad. Not great. Just kind of serviceable.

Aha yeah, it's quite impressive. I've too much to say and am unable to articulate it fast enough, and I'm also really tired and I can feel my arteries clogging from poutine. Montreal has an absurd definition of large.

It's delicious, and is probably going to kill me. But it was well worth it. Also, Unchated 2 does have a much better stealth aspect to it then Uncharted 1 did. Taking out 1 guy won't alert EVERYONE unless they actually catch you. It's a little bit closer to metal gear solid this time. The segments are a bit set up but it's still a bit of work to successfully do a stealth takeout of an entire section which is fairly satisfying. The animations and reactions for doing stealth take downs are practically perfect in their fluidity so they are all the more fun to pull off.

Plus the multiplayer is pretty good. One of the better multiplayer titles that is exclusive to the PS3.

The Uncharted series is the best example yet of a developer listening to criticism and responding by making the next game perfect.

I liked Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, but it had plenty of problems. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, on the other hand, I loved. If it weren't for Demon's Souls, it would have been my Game of 2009.

I haven't played much of it yet, but I co op was awesome, and the one match I played of multiplayer, I pulled some guy who kept killing me by pulling out his legs under him while hanging from a ledge and he plummeted to his death. That is one of the most satisfying online experiences I've ever had.

Couldn't get on with Co-op, but that was mostly because nobody ever used voice chat. If more people used voice chat then it might be enjoyable. I just prefer the ranked competitive modes like Elimination or Chain Reaction. Hate deathmatch RPGs though, why does everybody automatically select that when it's an option? It's easily the worst and dumbest match-type in the game but people flock to it straight away like gibbering idiots. "OO LOOK MUMMY I MAED A BOOM BOOM"
