I don't think Dirty Jobs qualifies as a reality show.

Mike Rowe keeps telling me that Chevy trucks just aren't as manly as Ford trucks.
I mean, I got to believe him, as he IS Mike Rowe, but I don't even want to buy a truck.

Or do I?

The original Reality Shows were just real situations as in Dirty Jobs.
Now all the Reality Shows are stupid made up situations that are just over-acted out.

I'd classify DIRTY JOBS as a doc/edutainmanet show.

Probably 50% of reality shows are based on reality. Just a guess though, with so many reality shows on and in production, it would be difficult to pinpoint a correct percentage.

Mike Rowe shills the truth, Ford does make a better truck than Chevrolet.
