A shame - looks like the effects of Midway's departure are about to be felt.
However, I agree with most the folks on CAG, thinking this is just temporary. Whoever owns Midway's IPs (Warner Bros, I believe) would be stupid not to put them back up.

So what does this mean for people who already purchased some of these games? If I delete Smash TV from my HDD, can I never get it back?
Re: Midway Games removed from XBLA
If you can't download it from XBLA then once it's gone it's gone. Which is complete fucking bullshit and Microsoft NEEDS to do something about this situation. They should allow people who bought the game before they were removed to download the games indefinitely. If they don't allow this then Microsoft need to give all customers a full refund. No exceptions.Flak Beard wrote:So what does this mean for people who already purchased some of these games? If I delete Smash TV from my HDD, can I never get it back?
This is one of the reasons why digital distribution absolutely fails.

I completely agree. If I remember correctly, they've already removed some of the older games that weren't selling enough. I feel bad for people who download their games. Todays consoles are fragile and they risk losing their entire digital collection due to hardware failure when these games are no longer available for download anymore.Niode wrote:If you can't download it from XBLA then once it's gone it's gone. You CAN do exactly that.Niode wrote:If you can't download it from XBLA then once it's gone it's gone. Which is complete fucking bullshit and Microsoft NEEDS to do something about this situation. Niode is wrong. If you've DL'ed it in the past, you can re-DL it again. Check you download history and just pick it up again.

Yeah what happens in say 15-20 years when Xbox Live is no longer running or support for the Xbox 360 is dropped? It will happen eventually. This is why many hardcore gamers don't like digital distribution. There is no guarantee that it will be there in the future or that you will be able to get your stuff back.RadarScope1 wrote:Niode is wrong. If you've DL'ed it in the past, you can re-DL it again.
