I use this electrical contact cleaner for everything. It will clean up the contacts on carts and it will help you clean up sticker goo. Never had it damage any plastic. Its safe if you get a little on (most) labels too as long as you don't go scrubbing and just let it dry. You can also get most permanent marker off of plastic as well. I use this cleaner in conjunction with a white plastic art eraser and paper towels, depending on what I'm cleaning.

Water to pre scrub the exterior and remove heavy dirt deposits, followed by a rag moistened with 70% By Volume Rubbing Alcohol available at any store.

Oh yeah, for external console cases.
If you completely remove all of the insides and any springs and trap doors and such so you only have plastic, some warm soapy water and an old toothbrush is what I use to get all the dust and gunk our of the grooves and vents of systems. Just make sure everything is really dry, including the screw holes before putting back together.
