List of Sega Genesis RPGs

Post by spiritplx »

Does anyone know where I might find a comprehensive list of Sega Genesis RPGs ? I have found a few lists at RPGClassics, GameFaqs, and various other places, but none of them seem truly complete. I have found a few lists that seem to be complete game lists for the Sega Genesis, but they are not sortable by genre. Any help would be appreciated !

Thanks. I had come across that earlier today, and so far it is the most complete list I have seen. However, it is missing at least one game that I know of: Might and Magic 3. Perhaps that is the only game that it is missing, but I would feel more confident with a list that has at least all the games I know of. In fact, I think I have only seen one list with Might and Magic 3, not sure why it is left off so many. Perhaps that is the best list out there, but if anyone knows of one better, let me know. Again, I appreciate the help.

Considering Might and Magic III was only released in Japan for the Sega CD I think Sega-16 can be forgiven. All signs point to it being a poor port.

Ahh ok, I guess I was confused, the MM3 article on Wiki says that it was released for the Mega Drive. Maybe it meant Sega CD. I also found this, which might have lead to some of the confusion...

"A version for the Sega Genesis was in development, but was not released. A ROM image made from a prototype cartridge is available on the internet."

I guess my next question is... where is a good place to find release info on games, especially when the company that made the game is no longer in business ?

gamefaqs actually has some release info. And there's a yearly book in Tokyo that covers somewhat recent releases. The edition I have, the 1999 edition, only has Playstation, Saturn, N64, Neo Geo, GameBoy, and early Dreamcast. But there might be older editions floating around.
