Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Everyday Guy Sets Up Retro Gaming Display In Public Library

Post by racketboy »

Wow -- this is so cool.
He did an excellent job with the display as well.
The console and game selection is varied and balanced.
I hope it inspires some gamers out there (and doesn't get stolen/vandalized)

He displayed the best two games for SMS and the biggest reasons that you'd need a SMS to experience the best of 8-bit.

Wow, just the other day I thought of how cool it would be to create a gaming museum. I highly approve. Brings tears to my eyes :)

Holy crap! It's in Joplin, an hour from where I live. (I live in Springfield, MO.)

Must be something in the water. We have a FANTASTIC retro arcade in downtown Springfield called 1984. The guys who started it are avid arcade cabinet collectors whose wives demanded they "do something" with their games or get them out of the house. They started a business with it. Bought more games and restored them. They charge 5 bucks for all you can play. They have about 50 classic games -- all in great condition. No junky joysticks or sticky buttons.

Seriously, if you're a retrogamer and anywhere near southwest Missouri, you owe it to yourself to stop at 1984.

Also, it's less than a block from my apartment. Score!

The first pic dissapointed me a little, (Dusty dusty Genesis ..... BAD MONKEY...."Thwack"..) But the sms coupled with the last Dig at the VBoy redeemed him.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Awesome! I had wanted to do something like this locally too a while back. Looks like he did it very well.
