Has namco given up support on it? The ps3 is 4 years (ish) old now. I would've thought there would be at least a second game for the gun.
Looking around, i can't find anywhere that sells them. Gamestop doesn't even list it on their site. The vibe i'm picking up is that namco doesn't even sell them anymore. Where sales that horrible?
Anyone hear anything official on this, or did namco just go quietly into the night?
Furthermore, does anyone have one that they want to sell cheap, ie not over 50 or 60 bucks? All the prices i found were brutal for a lightgun game.
Is the guncon 3 dead before it started?

I work at an EB games in Canada and to my knowledge the gun game combos went on sale. I think we still have 1 or 2 kicking around at my location but they have gone back up in price. they were down to 20 bucks though! I think that it was a mistake for namco to not release it on more then the PS3 especially since the PS3 did not have the following at the time. It probably didnt help that it was a light gun shooter either lol.
Sega where is my home version of house of the dead 4

but isnt the Guncon 3 a normal light gun? that means it only works on crt tvs right? think about this day and age, who the hell is gonna play a PS3 on a standard tv, i could see why sales would be so poor

Guncon 3 was more like a wiimote - it worked on hdtvs.
I dont think they released the gun alone, and I know they didnt release a lefty version. Overall, I would say, yeah, did before it got started. Time Crisis 4 wasnt even that good of a game, and I am unsure how you use it on Socom

From Wikipedia:
The Guncon 3 utilizes two infrared LEDs as markers, placed on the left and right sides of the screen. An image sensor in the muzzle tracks the markers as reference points for determining where the gun is pointing on the screen. As opposed to the Guncon and Guncon 2, which are only compatible with CRT-based displays, the Guncon 3 supports a wide variety of display types, including LCD and Plasma.
So yeah, wiimote minus accelerometer function.

The gun looking as awful as it does can't have helped any

Does it work with PS2/PS1 games on a BC PS3? If it does that would be awesome, I'd love to play my multitude of lightgun titles again. I need my point blank fix without having to go out of the house.

Sony are still working on that "magic wand" motion control device. I'm hoping once that is finalised, we'll see more lightgun style games appear.
Yeah, Namco should support the GunCon3 for sure. But other developers are more likely to support a Sony first-party peripheral (which is why the Wii gets so many lightgun style games, even if a few of them are crap).
