EWJ platform

Post by RadarScope1 »

Quick recommend plz:

Earthworm Jim on Genesis or SNES? I played it on SNES years ago and it was great. Want to play again and heard the Genny version has smoother controls and better music. I'm thinking the silky smooth six-button controller will be great for this game. Anyone played both or have a quick opinion?

SegaCD version is best. The soundtrack was CD quality. Much much better than the sequenced stuff.

Well, more like 50% A.

I played on the PC

And it was ok (with this I mean that this fantastic game had a good port to PC - I don't know how the other versions compare). I suppose its similar to the CD version?

Playing it on keys actually gave good controls, considering all the head-whip jumps require a lot of precision.

I didn't know it came to PC. It's probably damn near identical to SegaCD. Looks like EWJ2 hit PC as well, but only as a pack-in with EWJ1. I wonder if it has the CDDA music that the PS1 and Saturn versions of EWJ2 had.

Yeah, sorry Mozgus, I don't have a Sega CD right now, though I probably will someday.

I think I'm going to go with the Genesis version since that's the platform the game was originally programmed for.

I'd get it for SNES and Genesis if you can. Its a great game to compare the platforms with. The SNES version has great color and better sound FX. IMO the Genesis music is better and the graphics like you said were developed for Genesis first.

Why can't you get the SegaCD version and play it on your PC? It is much better on the SCD with an extra level, and extended levels in between. Also a killer soundtrack. Come on, the 'Snot A Problem' track on SCD was just freakin' great.
