No, I bought it expecting a tactical action game, Like it was advertised. and yes this is my first MGS game, I always thought like most action games regardless of place in the series, it would ease you into the game first then throw series action at you, but this one seems to be dependent on the earlier games in the series.

The thing is, MGS is advertised as 'tactical espionage action'...and 'action' is last for a reason.
It's my favorite PS3 game thus far. Hopefully, by the time you finish MGS4, Kojima's bug will bite you and you'll start to discover no matter how nonsensical (Liquid's arm?) or absurd (gay, bullet proof vampires?!) the MG universe gets, you'll learn to appreciate it for all it's little things.

I already Have been sucked into the MGS universe, I just had to play into the game a little more. Then it played easier and made some sense, I will be going back into the other games, Most likely MGS3 then 1 then 2,

Yeah. I can't find the video for MGS3, but there was a japanese guy who set up some pretty incredible footage of him taking intricately set up photos of the enemies. I think the video has been taken down, which sucks a fat one because it was amazing. I'll hunt down some of the pictures my friends and I took online just to show what you can do with it and post them here.
