Well, at least Rob Zombie doesn't believe he is the reincarnation of a pre-existing fictional character.
I can't remember the name - it's like Otherkin, except instead of thinking you're a Vampire or a Dragon or some shit, you think you're the human incarnation of Bugs Bunny or Renamon or something.
Jesus, the internet is a weird place.

I disagree, he became famous being in a band named White Zombie where he had the nickname Rob Zombie. Just like none of the guys in The Ramones actually had Ramone as their last name. It is a gimmick, yes, but it's fun. Anyhoo. As far as carrying the name Rob Zombie into film, he gained a lot of cred being Rob Zombie and I am sure that, initially, it helped him gain recognition as people immediately recognized the name and therefore gave the product a chance - like a brand. Kind of like how Dwayne Johnson starred as The Rock until just recently. I think, however, that Zombie's work in film really reflects the same style as his music - both White Zombie and his movies are most definitely creations of Rob Zombie so carrying his music business name over into film works just fine. It's not like he is using the name Rob Zombie to get people to watch a romantic comedy. I watch a movie by Rob Zombie expecting nothing other than a long, kickass, gory, highly sexual, very inappropriate music video. I guess some people are okay with that and others are not.Luke wrote:That is all well and good, but he is a grown man who can't disconnect himself from a childhood fantasy. It's just odd to me.fastbilly1 wrote:But Luke, Rob names his characters after Groucho Marx Characters. It is the only reason I have ever given his films a chance.

I just saw Avatar. I'm trying to be positive. It was better than "Pearl Harbor."
After the first five minutes I was pretty much waiting for the film to be over. It was remarkably unentertaining. It was a big-budget blockbuster. I expected it to be dumb, cheesy, good-looking, and entertaining. It only succeeded in the first three.

Watched Sherlock Holmes tonight. It was great. Most satisfying movie of the year without a doubt.
