I think there should be a mark for symbolism ,
then we know when an author is saying
"I went on my new ride passing all the cities of the world"
he really means the ride is his life, and the cities symbolizes each year of his age.
I think sarcasm is easily spotted

Who here is more confused now that people are using that symbol, are you using it ironically or what? ARGH.
On second thoughts, I've just created a company called Ironicorp, and I'm charging £0.99 for my Ironisymbol, which denotes Ironic passages of text. More details to follow...
