Help with Steel Battalion Purchase

Post by Pookie »

Hello,
I have a chance to buy a boxed set of Steel Battalion, and I would like to know what would be a reasonable price to pay for the package?

Thanks

What color is the inlay? I have the blue buttons which are a little harder to find.

But if it was boxed with both games I would say $80 would be a middle price. That's what I paid for about a year ago.

But if you keep your eyes open, I picked up another set w/ original game at GS for $50. No box, of course, but I wanted another set for parts ... they do have the longest record of shelf life ...

If it has low play time $100 is the going rate. You can sometimes get them for $50-75 but $100 is the standard.

Make sure it comes with all three pieces of the control panel, the pedals, and the single player game (not Line of Contact). If you could have a chance to play it before you buy that would be ideal. I own two sets of sticks but no single player game...

Is their any difference among the reissue and the original release? Apart from the color of the buttons?

steelbattalion.org was a great site for me ... seems that it's either running a little slow or it could be my connection but check them out. Good group of guys ...

i would personally jump on this opertunity if i had the money. steel battalion is one of those game's that i wanted an xbox for (mainly because im a mech junkie). i still plan on getting one but i don't really have an income per-say. this game really looks as endearing and challenging as the Monster Hunter games. plus that controller is sooooo bad ass. the game's original starting price is 200. the first game is ideal to get but you can get it's squeal game: line of contact. it's strictly online and they closed the servers for one of the two modes (campaign) a while back...at least i think they did. the other mode "free battle" should still be up and running. free battle is basically you vs. others and campaign is well.....you should know. the only reason i know all this is because of my huge need to have this game hahaha.

So, I am going to take the plunge and purchase it. I wish I could have found it cheaper, but these things are becoming scarce.

The only thing I need now is an XBOX

Damn thing was sealed
The only drawback is that it has blue buttons instead of green :(

What's wrong with the blue buttons? I think they stand out better than the green.

Also, prepare to have a nerdgasm the first time you start up a mission. Capcom really went all-out with regards to that controller.
