Well that would be cheaper. Also I believe there are several third party adapters available that work with the 360.the7k wrote:Then I'd have to buy a Wireless Network Adapter for my computer...
They aren't illegal, so no. I know there were several for the original Xbox and that they all worked for the 360.the7k wrote:Third-Party WiFi adapters for the X360? Just one random system update and it'll be time to buy a new one!
Yeah, the Microsoft 360 wireless adapter is just a branded regular wireless G (possibly N now) adapter.SplashChick wrote:They aren't illegal, so no. Come on. If they were going to do that, it would have been done by now. You're being REALLY paranoid about this, that's like if they locked out 3rd party controllers. It's not going to happen.the7k wrote:There was nothing illegal about Datel's products either. Didn't stop system updates from making them worthless. Hell, Datel even got permission from Microsoft to make them. All it's going to take is Microsoft figuring out a way to lock 3rd party WiFi adapters out, and it'll be done.
Uhh, nope hes serious. MS really did lock out third party memory devices. Read:SplashChick wrote:Come on. If they were going to do that, it would have been done by now. 3rd party wireless adaptors (or wireless bridges as they're more accurately known as) don't use USB. They interface using the ethernet port. So unless Microsoft banned the ethernet port (which isn't going to happen, ever) then that is complete bollocks.the7k wrote:There was nothing illegal about Datel's products either.
