Can a PS3 arcade stick be used on a PS2

Hello,
I want to purchase an arcade stick for my PS2, but they are extremely expensive. So, I was wondering if it is possible to use a PS3 arcade stick on a PS2? Keep in mind that I do not own a PS3.

No....well at least mine can't. I have a SF IV Stick and it works via BC but not on my PS2.

Most ps3 stick are probably usb, so they won't work as the ps2 only recognizes certain usb devices.

If you want a quality stick there's not much chance of getting one for under $100. Just spend the money, a good stick will last you a loooong time.

I've got that Hori stick, and printed all over the box and manuals are the words "WORKS ONLY WITH PS3." So there's your answer.
