Finished it on hard mode, I was enjoying it when I started, but it gradually got less and less interesting. There are WAY too many Clank levels and they all feel like Braid ripoffs with the puzzle solving. The arsenal in this installment sucks. Most of the tougher enemies and bosses like to fight from long range and the majority of your weapons are built for short to mid range combat. That's really annoying. Also, there's hardly any FUN weapons in this one. Just the disco ball and Mr. Zurcon, which we'll already seen in previous installments and the new Rift weapon. Everything else seems more about function than entertainment. Ship combat sucks...again. Geez, will Insomniac EVER get that down.
And the arena challenges were a let down, as they were in Tools of Destruction. Seems like the PS 2 installments had better arena fights.
I don't know, it's certainly GOOD. It's hard to find a crappy R & C game, but this one was less fun for me than Tools of Destruction. The game is MUCH cheaper than previous installments too, and no, I'm talking about price. I guess I expected more from what is supposedly the last installment in the series.

Crack In Time was actually the only R&C game I got into. Never finished it, but I still played it a lot more than any of the PS2 ones.
Don't know why I enjoyed it more, but life is filled with mysteries.

Drag, I was looking forward to eventually obtaining this game. Can anyone back up or refute the OP's sentiments?
My game-related blog.

The only R & C I played was Future: Tools of Destruction (well, Quest for Booty too). I'm 27 so I sort of wonder if these games are more fondly enjoyed by those who grew up on the series. I finished FTOD and I did like the comedy in it. I just never became a fan of the series from playing it. I think you had to grow up playing this series, or maybe be a huge fan of platformers from when you were a kid.
I don't know, it just never really sucked me in.

I should also point out the tons of bugs/glitches I've encountered. The game froze up on me twice in the same arena challenge. I've seen enemies stuck running in place or attacking something that wasn't there. I had Ratchet get stuck on stairs once and he even got stuck on a group of enemies once
I don't recall EVER having bugs/glitches in other R&C games, and did I mention how CHEAP this one is compared to earlier installments, ESPECIALLY in those arena challenges
Weak, I kind of wish Insomniac had just stopped at Tools of Destruction. They're taking the series downhill with this one

That's supposed to be the last in the series? Crud, R&C was my favorite PS platformer series.Gamerforlife wrote:I guess I expected more from what is supposedly the last installment in the series.
