Doijinshi is kind of "unofficially licensed content for sale". Like doujinshi manga is sometimes glorified fan-fiction, sometimes it's produced by the assistant artists for that particular series (but it's kind of an unofficial side-story since it's not published by the IP holder). Doujinshi comes in all forms - anime, manga, pencil boards, games, and so on.Mozgus wrote:What the hell does doujin even mean? I always assumed it was related in some way to anime porn. I'm guessing not.

Basically, "fan-works". It's technically against copyright law, but publishers in Japan generally turn a blind eye to it, since it increases exposure of the official/licensed content.

Well, I'm mostly interested in older stuff, and most of the games have problems running under WinXP in US mode. Not to mention that the US market is never really a consideration of theirs. Trying to order a Japanese doujin game often costs far more for Americans than it should for what the games are, what with currency conversion and all.

Points well taken, but I fear I am still of no help to you. Good luck on finding this.
And to be a hypocrite if/when you do find it, I know of some mid 90s doujin games that I have been having a helluva a time finding - My friend who use to live near Akihabara use to brag to me about them of IRC (the trick now is to remember the names...)
