Anyone remember those things

I vaguely remember something cool I used to enjoy in my youth. It popped into my head when I saw pictures on some website of the old Nintendo watches with games built in

Does anyone remember those old games some company put out, that looked like mini-arcade machines. They were just big enough to hold in you hand. I had one once, can't remember what the name of the game was or who made it. I remember it was fun though

It's sad how many cool things I lost growing up(like my old transformers and GI Joes that seem to be highly sought after by collectors now), not to mention how many of those things I've completely forgotten about.

Are you refering to the company called "Tiger games". They made crappy little handhelds for everything I had a pinball game and Double Dragon.

When I was a kid my dad used to have a table-top Pac-Man game that was styled like an arcade cabinet. It was about 6 or 8 inches tall, had a white joystick and featured artwork that looked a lot like the real arcade cabinet. The sound effects were quite loud. I've seen them on eBay ...

Oh yeah, of course. My more affluent friends got those, and I had some severe envy at the time. I didn't necessarily thing the games were superb conversions, but to an idiot kid such as myself, they were fun. And the fact it was packaged in a miniature cabinet -- wow.

Of course, we also had competitions to see who could spit farthest, and ringing someone's door-bell and running away was thought to be a riot.

Will have to try the latter again, to see how it holds up.

Apparently the idea isn't completely dead, they made a Family Guy Pinball machine in that kind of mini cabinet: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/60 ... v_XPND0010

I splurged on the real thing this year http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=5219, but still want to check out the miniature bugger.

I doubt it uses VFC, however.

I used to own several of those old Tiger handhelds. My favorite was probably Pinball, as it was pretty easy, unlike some of the other games they put out.

I didn't think anyone would remember those things. I'm going to have to buy one of them now, as my gaming collection will not seem complete without one. I can imagine what kind of inflated prices I'll probably see for those things. Thanks guys, my inner child is doing Numfar's dance of joy

I remember those Tiger Games handhelds too. I think I still own three of them actually. I had some fun with those. Limited though they were, they had a certain charm and novelty. I think some kids actually collected those things back then. There was so much stuff to collect back then(remember those crazy Garbage Pail kids cards?)
