This was not an eBay purchase, but it was the greatest gaming deal of my life, and one I'll probably never top.
Back in the 90s there was a spoiled kid in my circle of friends who would get all the latest stuff on day one then sell it a few months later for practically nothing. He got a PS1 at launch. Six months later, when the retail price was still $299, I bought the console, 2 controllers, memory card, RF adaptor and 7 games -- including Ridge Racer, Ace Combat, Toshinden (which was cool at the time) and Loaded -- for $200. All in all it was $700 worth of stuff.
I wonder if that guy has a PS3 today ...

I picked up Gunstar Heroes with box for $5, I think it was, used.
But I feel my best deals are the ones I got new. I bought my Dreamcast when Wal-mart jumped the gun on the price drop to $149, when the $50 rebate was still valid (meaning I got a DC for $100 right when the price dropped to $149). My TG-16 was $129, I think, the CD-ROM attachment was only $150 when I got it, new.

Wow I didnt know the going price on FFVII was over $50. Looks like my seven dollar investment might actually have been worth it. Now to hunt down a black label FFVIII then I can sell 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,and tactics all black label and with guides for 5,6,7, and 8. That should fetch alot more than the fifty or so Ive put into obtaining it.

Just got a surprisingly good deal on ebay recently(where most sellers just rip you off now and days). For fifteen dollars I got these, all North American versions:
Rocket Knight Adventures with box
NBA Jam T.E. with EVERYTHING
Sonic 2 with box and instructions
Taz-Mania with box and instructions
Aladdin with box and instructions
Vectorman, cartridge only
I already have Sonic 2 and NBA Jam with box and instructions, but this is still a good deal I think for the other four games. I can actually take the box for either Sonic 2 or NBA Jam and use it to hold the Vectorman cartridge

My absolute favorite alltime deal was my copy of Radiant Silvregun NrM complete with spine card. I purchased it early 2006. I paid 200 for it but i worked hard and it was time to get my hands on it. This was before i had my saturn modded. I refuse to let my copy go, and i still play it on occasion. I know if i waited i could have had a better deal but i wanted it asap and dont regret it.
Radiant Silvergun is my all time favorite shmup and ive played many of them. I dont understand why there is a shmup cult that does nothing but talk garbage about his game and say how over rated this game is, you know who you are! I personally believe this game is the best and the people who criticizes it are people who only played the first level (or level 3)

I played Radiant Silvergun extensively and, while it is a great game, I do think it's a little over-rated. Why? However artistic and well-balanced it is, there are a number of shooters I enjoy more. I think it suffers some of the same problems other more artistically constructed shooters suffer. Sometimes it's nice to have a shooter make more sense rather than less.
Well i think Radiant Silvergun makes complete sense to me. The weapons are great and i always find it the best shmup to play even compared to new ones.
Anyways what is it that you dont like about it, can you be more specific?
Mabye its really just personal taste as in the "whats better, apples or oranges?" argument.

Not really an Ebay purchase, but it's a story related to Ebay. Back in the day, I bought a used copy of Castlevania: SotN from Gamestop for about $10. When I moved, it got boxed up with the rest of my PSX stuff that I had planned on getting rid of. Fast forward a couple years, and I decided to keep it. That was the only game I couldn't find when I unpacked my stuff. Now I can't find it for less than $50 on Ebay.
As far as the best deal I've gotten, that would have to be my Dreamcast, with a few games, controllers, and VMU for $40 shipped.
