Like I said at the beginning, these are games that are good in my opinion or by popular opinion - The Club happens to be a game I greatly enjoyed. The only problem I had with it was the controls. Considering it only cost me about $18 at the time, I didn't think it was wasted money at all.JDMThoughts wrote:I strongly disagree with The Club. That game was god awful. I like a lot of the other games you chose. But seriously, The Club is an absolute flop.

I really liked The Club when I played the demo a long time ago. I never picked it up though. Thanks for putting it back on my radar.
I liked the idea of doing a "run" over and over trying to get a better and better score. It's a very different kind of shooter.

That's cool man. I thought the game was atrocious. If you got enjoyment out of it that's good. That's what the game was made for.... people to enjoy. It's obvious that every game that comes out won't appeal to every single gamer. I thought the game sucked. You liked it. It is a budget friendly title. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not questioning your gamerhood. Different strokes for different folks.the7k wrote:Like I said at the beginning, these are games that are good in my opinion or by popular opinion - The Club happens to be a game I greatly enjoyed. Re: For those with new PS3s and empty wallets...
Just finished R&C:Tools of Destruction. Nice to have something action packed to play alongside the more methodical and slow paced Dragon Age that I've been playing on the 360. Awesome game Tools of Destruction is, not perfect but overall an excellent game. My minor gripes are the following. Six axis controls suck. Fortunately, you can turn them off. This makes me even less interested in ever getting a Wii, though I'd probably pick one up for the right price. The shooting levels almost felt as fun as the Starfox games, but having two differents controls for the ship and the gun was annoying. I like how in Starfox, your shots go in whatever direction you move your ship. I also think they are streamlining the series a bit too much. This one seemed to have fewer optional stuff and fewer arena challenges than previous installments. It's good for the game's pacing though
I'm thinking of buying MGS 4, which is also on this list and Valkyria Chronicles if I can find it. Great topic

Newegg has MGS4 for 19.99 new with free shipping right now. You should totally get it at that price.Gamerforlife wrote:I'm thinking of buying MGS 4, which is also on this list and Valkyria Chronicles if I can find it. Great topic

Glad to be of service.
Never played R&C:Tools of Destruction (well, except the demo), but I'll probably give it a shot at some point. Just hoping I find it at another of those ridiculous sales that have been going on.
You should check out Crack In Time (when you get the money, of course). Even with me not being much of an R&C fan, I still enjoyed it.

Yeah, I want to check out Crack in Time, but it's a bit too pricey right now. I just love the wanton destruction in R&C games, add in the rpg elements and the occasional good joke and it's hard for me not to like themthe7k wrote:Glad to be of service.

I picked up Valkyria Chronicles new for 19.99 today and a used copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 for 16.99 with the Edge card.
This is what is so fun about retro gaming. It seems like a steal to get these games so cheap. The only expensive game I've bought for the PS 3 so far is Uncharted 2. I would warn people though. Gotta shop around. Prices are all over the place for games these days. Folkore is like fifty bucks on Amazon and twenty bucks used at Gamestop and that's just one example. Threads like this are great because they save you from paying more than you should have too
