OG Xbox Adventure & RPG Recommendations

Post by Rounin »

I'm looking to expand my Xbox small Adventure & RPG library, I have a few of the obvious choices but I'm hoping you guys can recommend alternatives.

Here is a list of what I already own.

Fable
Baldur’s Gate
X-Men Legends
Shenmue II
Pirates!
Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy)

Thanks for looking

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.
It's a fantastic Adventure game with great graphics, story, and some action segments thrown in for good measure. I'm playing through it right now.

Syberia I & II are supposed to be good, too. I know that the first one runs in 1080i, which is really cool for an Original Xbox game.

Sudeki is an RPG for the Xbox, supposedly a very good one, too.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition is a must - one of the best RPGs of all-time, Morrowind will last you ages and is well worth picking up if you haven't played the PC counterpart. Also, if you have a modified Xbox it's possible to use mods created for the PC version.

Otogi: Myth of Demons & Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors - a pair of brilliant 3rd person adventures set in a world based on Japanese mythology but nowadays that can be kinda difficult to track down at a reasonable price.

Enclave is a pretty good action adventure.

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is good fun if you're a fan of the Indy films.

Jade Empire is a martial arts RPG by Bioware, well worth picking up.

Also, the two Buffy the Vampire Slayer games are suprisingly good, especially the first one (the sequel Chaos Bleeds was done by another studio).

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II should be added to the list.

Without a doubt, these games are great. The first one is in my view, the best RPG on the system.

KOTOR is great, but I'd have to recommend Morrowind: Game of the year edition most highly. Some consider it to have been made defunct by the release of Oblivion, but I personally prefer the world of Morrowind. The only problems are the journal system which makes keeping track of quests near impossible if you take time off of one, getting around the world is a pain, and, unlike oblivion, hits are determined by level rather than personal skill. But this game will last you forever.
Systems: Atari 7800, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Game Boy Pocket (2), Game Boy Color, GBA SP (2), DS
