What about the people who can't afford HD television/ expenisive TV. Where have you been? I don't have those cables, but before I bought my ps3 I had already bought Monster cables for ps2. Monster cables are pretty good for me now. At least Sony gave composite cables then nothing.
You took too long, now your candy's gone. That's What happens. Bkowwwww. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
Re: Damn you Sony
Hm, looks like the price has come down since I last checked. I guess I'd have to factor in the change in price of HDMI cables over time to get accurate statistics.classicgamer5 wrote:ebay has a bunch for $7

Re: Damn you Sony
Not to mention that Corporations could probably buy them in bulk at a lower price. But hey, Microsoft wouldn't throw out 25 cents to get bumpers to protect discs, so at least it isn't that bad.classicgamer5 wrote:mine was $6.99 BIN and free shipping. Re: Damn you Sony
You read that right - even the Elite 360s don't come with component cables any more.
Yeah, it's BS but it's not about how cheap they are. It's about the fact that consoles make absolutely no money for retailers, like pennies on the SKU. Cables, however, can make retailers lots of money, especially if you're talking about the insanely overpriced $30 and up cables. It gives retailers something to upsell and it saves a dollar or two per SKU for the console manufacturers, which adds up when you're talking hundreds of thousands of units per month.

Re: Damn you Sony
Companies always do this, they come with what most people need and not all. Believe it or not most PS3 and 360 owners still don't have a HDTV. My SNES came with an RF. Why because most TV owners TVs didnt have any other type of hook-up.
Just think, you bought a PS3 with HDMI and your TV doesn't have it. Well now you can't even play till you get the right cables. Now you include regular A/V cables and you are pretty much set for the most amount of people to play.
What else could they do but include all cable types. Then someone would complain and say I am paying extra money for cables I am not using. You can guess what Greenpeace would say about wastefullness

Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Uh, try that math again.Dylan wrote:Actually, that's not entirely true. If HDMI cables cost them even just $10 a piece, and Sony's sold about 27 millions units, it would have cost them about 27 billion dollars to supply each console with the cables.PhilExile wrote:Its such crap too, because obviously, their cost would be minimal.
27,000,000 X 10 = 270,000,000
Also, there is no way a cable made in mass quantities and supplied by the manufacturer would cost them $10 apiece to produce.
Ow! My small intestine!
Re: Damn you Sony
$10 is a overestimation, but when it comes to mass production of stuff like this the difference between a 25c part and just not including it all is huge.
