The thread created by Yackom (http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2837) got me thinking. Everyone has some kind of achievements in games but what about shameful moments? i.e. the things you feel most ashamed of in terms of games. I'll go first:
I never found all 96 worlds in Super Mario World. I got to 95 but the last exit alluded me. That and the fact my brother erased my save file!
I never collected all the chaos emeralds in Sonic 1 on the MD.
I have not completed Deux Ex on the PC. I completed the first level but never got around to completing the rest of it.
Never completed Tomb Raider 1 when I had it on the Saturn. Got close to the end but gave up.
There you go. They are my "gaming shames". They may not be shameful to others but they are to me!
What are yours!?
Your gaming shame

I can't get past the second level of Ikaruga.
I'm sure there are other "shames" as well...

I've been playing Counter Strike (and moved to Source) for close to 8 years, and I still usually die twice as many times as my kills.
I loved DMC3, but I tried a dozen times to beat the sword brothers, so I just cheated the rest of the way. I don't get that game. :-\
Everyone of the GTAs has some timed car chase mission (often with additional guidelines) that I always get stuck on forever.
I can't play the RTS genre. They make me have frustrated panic-attacks. It's an embarrassing sight. You just cant control hundreds of units, each with unique uses, with just a keyboard and mouse in any timely fashion. Those tourney champs are cyborgs, I tells ya. When we get an RTS that jacks right into my brain and lets me control units with my thoughts, then maybe I'll try again.
Sonic 3: Carnival Zone. Levitating spinning barrel. Do I need to explain?

Re: Your gaming shame
I think that its a similar case with me as well, I was so close too.kinn wrote:I never found all 96 worlds in Super Mario World. I got to 95 but the last exit alluded me.
I have never actually finished a SNES Donkey Kong Country game. DKC 2 is the only one that I haven't played, I got to the final boss in DKC and DKC3 and then had to return the games to the video store/friends.
I only got 98% of items in Metroid Prime and 99% in Metroid Prime 2, I'm sure that I'll crack 100% with the 3rd title.
