That game wasn't really THAT great even when it was new, really. Playing through it 5 or 10 times probably didn't help, either.classicgamer5 wrote:and Conflict: Desert StormBoringSupreez wrote:And SOCOM 1.Ack wrote:Yeah, but certain games didn't age well at all. I'm looking at you, Summoner.

Re: PS2 graphics
The PS2 was a beast when it came to pumping out polygons but it was set back by its limited texture memory and 'dirty' video output.

Transformers for one was impressive given it was more of a 'tech demo'.. Shame its engine wasn't used in more games.

No, ICO looks incredible. For an older game, it puts a lot of more recent PS2 games utterly to shame.classicgamer5 wrote:ICO looks really good

ICO is a launch title?

Re: PS2 graphics
I don't think anyone said it was a launch title. ICO came out in 2001 so it is a pretty early game, but not a launch title. It came out not quite a year after the PS2 was launched.kingmohd84 wrote:ICO is a launch title?

"Shox" by Electronic Arts (2002) is some kick ass shit if you've never played it.

Re: PS2 graphics
For all my love of the PS2, I have to agree that a lack of default 480p support is it's one downside.PhilExile wrote:If you look at the PS2's contemporaries, Gamecube and Xbox, the majority of those system's games at least supported 480p, if not better. Now, if your saying to yourself, "Wait, but the PS2 was released a year before those systems," in order to justify the lack of HD support, I point you to the Sega Dreamcast, whose library (mostly) supports 480p via VGA output.
Actually, I would have even taken the ability to switch from 480i to 240p as a valid choice. I loathe interlacing.
