Famous band's humble beginnings

Somebody mentioned the earlier work of band members in Fallout Boy in the misheard lyrics thread, and I started to think about some of the funnier early beginnings of bands I like. I'm wondering if people have other examples.

Here's a hilarious picture of early Trent Reznor (on the right) in one of his early bands, Option 30, before he became Nine Inch Nails


Also, here's a great video of Maynard James Keenan in the 80s before TOOL became a huge success. This video always makes me laugh. Hair metal bandmate chronies? Check. Black guy playing funk pass seeming totally out of place? Check. Maynard in a unitard doing hip hop? Check!

Haha, I should have thought of that one. Funnily, I like With Sympathy when I'm in a synthpop mood even though he did it in total sellout mode and faking the accent. I'll pick up a CD to replace the tape I bought uninformed years ago if I find it cheap.

I got into Ministry first because of Psalm 69. I was shocked when I heard "With Sympathy." It's a good album, but it sounds like it came from a different band from a different time period.
