So here is the story. I bought an oXbox off craigslist($25). The door on it is picky. The day I got it the door opened (after pushing it enough). Now I can't get it to open. Read the game okay though. A friend sold me his small cache of games along with his non woking xbox (disc tray opens but gives a "check to make sure this is a xbox game" message. Is it possible to take the disc tray out of his and put it in my mine?
If there has already been a how to posted somewhere on this a link would be awesome.

Get your friends and get a CD cleaner.
I've repaired many xboxes and 9 times out of 10 if you getting the DRE it's just a dirty laser
As for swapping them the one that sticks I can tell you without looking is a Samsung drive as this was a common problem with them, the dirty laser is probably a Thompson clean it, blow in it with a bike pump or a cold air hair drier and give a lens cleaner and solution a few spins.
P.S. If you press down on the roof of the stuck drive while it's trying to open it'll open if you've still got the xbox shell on give it a tap soon as you press the eject button.
