The Megadrive/Genesis version of Daze is very similar to the SNES version - here is the SNES version I found on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjyv1m1-YhY
Nice game!

Re: Zig's SNES Repros
I just played the SNES ROM last night. Nice game, but a little boring in my opinion.
A common story, actually. That's why Star Ocean didn't make its way over here, Enix of America went into a pickle.
I know you said you have the images on the floppies, but did you get the images from the original carts? If these ROMs are not on the web, then I'm assuming you did. The reason I ask is because prototype/beta games are made using regular old EPROMs and although they'll probably outlive a floppy disk they still are vulnerable to bit rot. You could dump the original carts, if you have them.
edit: Speaking of unreleased games, I didn't realize that there were so many BS-X games, and so many patches for them! Here's a picture of a repro kogami did of BS F-Zero (he even had a box and manual made up - this guy is nuts!)...

and BS Zelda...

I'll have to check these out. Also, not that it's an unreleased game or anything, but I was just reading up on the Mario Kart R hack. It's a very nice hack. The menus are a little bland in color, but I raced the first two tracks and it was pretty good. Also, it replaces Bowser with Kirby lol.

Re: Zig's SNES Repros
Yeah, Daze isn't a game you will maybe play to the end, however it is "Christmas-y" and gets you in the mood I think, which can't be bad. It's the subliminal music I guess!

The first batch that Ziggy's done for me is so close I can taste it. All I'm awaiting is for him to respond to my PM and then they'll ship out.

Just PM'ed ya! Gun Hazard is a lot of fun, I'm gonna have to get myself a copy.

I've sent out an email to Retro Zone about the possibility of a blank SNES board in the future (like the NES they sell). I also wanted to ask him about (kind of a cross-thread conversation here) the compatibility of the "expanded version" of Star Ocean on the SNES PowerPak (for those that don't know, there is a hacked version of Star Ocean that removed the need for the S-DD1 chip and thus makes the game much larger - 96Mbits to be exact).
I contacted the maker of the hack to inquire a little about it. He told me that people have put the 96Mbit version onto carts that played on real hardware (which is interesting) and that it should work on the flash cart. I'll wait for Retro Zone to get back to me with the final word though.
But the 96Mbit version on a donor cart? Interesting, but I don't think it'd be worth it. I guess it has it's pros and cons. The pro being that you wouldn't have to buy a copy of Star Ocean, but the price of 96Mbits worth of flash chips would be about the same so you might as well just buy Star Ocean instead of a donor cart. Still interesting though. I guess you can just stack 3 32Mbit flash chips on a LoROM board with 64Kbits of SRAM, but that seems too simple. Maybe I'll try it out some day.
